Tempe Elementary School District Receives First-Ever EdAhead Grant

On Jan. 26, 2015, Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. made a first time donation of $4,100 to the Tempe Elementary School District* to support its science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) initiatives. The school district will use the funds to support the Fees College Preparatory Middle School STEM based curriculum.

Tempe Elementary School District has allocated the EdAhead grant to support the second year of Fees College Prep’s STEM academic program, benefitting approximately 165 sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students by providing a STEM-based curriculum and a dedicated elective focusing on science, social studies, and language arts. The donation will specifically allow the school to purchase and maintain additional equipment for the STEM lab, replace consumable materials for all STEM classes, provide a STEM student field trip to the Arizona Science Lab, participate in the City of Tempe’s Geeks’ Night Out, and participate in STEM competitions.

“We are extremely honored to have been chosen by the school district to receive this contribution from Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp.,” said Kacy S. Baxter, Principal at Fees College Prep.  “Our STEM program provides students real-world opportunities that help to guide career decisions.  The additional support allows us to expand and enhance the program, which ultimately benefits our students and paves the way for their future.”

This is the first year that Dun & Bradstreet Credibility has contributed to Tempe Elementary School District, and since 2013, Dun & Bradstreet Credibility has donated a total of almost $530,000 to public schools throughout the country.
